We couldn't get over how gorgeous the Layered Voile Dress is!!! Oh my!! Not only that it looks perfect with our silver metallic Sweet Janes.

We are excited to share the new, up-and-coming brand, Velvet & Tweed. We met the owner, Tina Schrieber at Bubble New York when she launched the line last Spring. Schrieber formerly worked with Janie & Jack, Gymboree's upscale line.

Velvet & Tweed offers beautiful fabrics and elegant designs that can be dressed up or worn casual.

We love the tall ship and gingham button up shirts and pincord shorts, for boys. All of these are part of their Spring 2010 collection.

Velvet & Tweed's upcoming fall styles are equally beautiful.

This impeccable line is made in San Francisco, California.

We have paired their some of their boy styles with some of our Big Wave Slip ons for a hip, classic look perfect for the beach, a party or just a sunny afternoon at the park.

Fashion Feature-Mini Munster

We love owls and this one has a cool little scowl! Pair it with Mini Munster's Freaky Shorts and Sweet Shoes Big Wave Slips in red and gray!

Mini Munster's yellow dragon/dino T is our fav! Pair it up with gray Grid Lock shorts and Sweet Shoes Skate Waves in black and white!

Our pick of the day....Mini Munster. Created by an Australian couple with boys, the line is a perfect representation of the people behind it...laid back and edgy all mixed into one! We met Richie, the owner, at our very first trade show. It was love at first site for us with his creative and edgy designs. His characters have a Maurice Sendak feeling to them.
He primarily uses black, grays and reds, with the occasional splash of yellow or purple. They offer a range of t-shirts, one piece rompers and hoodies.
Mini Munster is an extension of his boys line, so as your child grows you don't necessarily have to give up your favorite Munster T. Missie Munster was launched last year for toddler girls. We are waiting for the baby girl line to come out!
We picked a few of our favs for the season and paired them with some our styles.
Check out their site for stockists and don't forget to get your matching Sweet Shoes!

Sweet Shoes in Real Life-Pirate Baby

OK, seriously...can you say adorable? These images were sent to us from a customer who ordered the Sweet Skull Slips for her sons first birthday. Like we said before, we love to see our shoes on cute little baby feet. The cuteness factor is off the hook with this one! The photography is amazing too! If you are in the Dallas area click on the photography link below or one of the images above to find out more.

"All credits to Jael DeYoung Photography. We purchased these shoes for my son's first birthday, and we ABSOLUTELY love them!! I would also like to say that you all have UNBELIEVABLE customer service, and went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure our shoes got to us on time. Thank you.... we are big Sweet Shoes fans!"

Thank you for sharing and the kind words Jessica!

Fashion Feature-Shirin NYC, Baby Star & More

Chic-y, chic-y baby....that's what comes to mind when I see these darling T's from Shirin NYC. Founder, Shirin Roubeni, is an artist turned designer and "t-shirt couturier." Her artistic background got her experimenting in her parents basement with screen printing, which eventually grew into a brand for women and kids. So good news, if you like the line as much as we do, you can get something in your size, too!
As for the "miniature" versions, Shirin nails it! Her earthy designs are both, simple and sophisticated. They are printed on all organic materials with water based inks.
Shirin's beautiful designs can be paired with so many things, we had a tough time narrowing it down.
Check out our choices!!

Chic Baby

The bird tank was our fav, hands down! Love the ruffle on the shoulder! We paired it with a Baby Star organic dark denim skirt with a ruffle down the front, some organic, charcoal Baby Legs and our Silver Sweet Jane's! Since some days are still cold here(and we love Baby Legs), we included leg warmers. For summer days, lose the warmers and you have the perfect, hip little get up!

Funky Fresh

The owl T came in at a close second. It is just such a Shirin signature design, simple and sophisticated. And owls are just cool!
We paired it up for another cooler weather choice with options!
Baby Gap has these adorable tulle skirts. Throw on some knee hi socks from Knuckleheads(I see more of Knuckleheads in our future) and a pair of Sweet Shoes Fringe Boots in black and your funky little one will be setting the playground trends. I want this outfit for myself!
This uber cool owl top would also look perfect with a pair of denim shorts and the boots!

Mini Me

This leopard T just screams mini-me! It is such a shrunk down version of one I have in my own closet. Pair it up with Baby Star Organic Jane Jeans and spice up the look with some bright, fun metallic Sweet Jane's. We picked purple, but almost any of the colors would do!! Who doesn't like jeans and a T-shirt?I think I want this outfit, too!

Baby Star is another amazing brand created by a mother, Dana Bach-Johnson, looking for hip and functional choices! The result is a wide variety of blankets bibs, bedding and apparel. We love the organic denim. Not only are they hip, you will still have money for the college fund!

Fashion Feature-Tiny Revolutionary

Spread the Love

Be Nice to the Earth

Forgiveness- Can't We all Just Get Along

Kindness

"You say you want a revolution, well you know, We all want to change the world." I think that is how the Beatles song goes. Tiny Revolutionary is working on doing just that, making their statements with fun colors, eye-catching graphics and organic materials! Wish they made them in my size...oh wait, they do!!!
Tiny Revolutionary was started by a couple of brilliant women with a passion for change! We love their philosophy, their style and their dream!
They have a great selection of what they call"Giving Tee's"(very clever), which a generous portion(about half) of each sale goes to select charities like children's heart disease and Haiti relief. The rest of the line has statement of love, caring and tolerance. Sure beats the "boys are dumb" and "I'm the boss" statements I see kids wearing.
Let's face it, our children are not growing up in the same world we did and it is great to see people out there giving, educating and spreading the love!
Check out what we paired Sweet Shoes hemp slips with!!!
For some retail therapy you can feel good about, visit Tiny Revolutionary's website to pick one of the up for you little one, or even for yourself!

Sweet Shoes Hot Pink Metallic Sweet Janes

Ok everyone, so we have shown you some sweet girly, some modern chic and now we are bringing you some edgy! This one is a brand that is close to our hearts. Not only are they also Santa Cruz based and great friends of ours, but they are a spin off of one of the original skate brands...so they were born cool!!!!
Every baby who's any baby in Santa Cruz dons Little Ruler duds, an Indy T, a Santa Cruz dot hat, you name it...they have it!
Little Ruler was created by skateboard legend Jeff Kendall and his beautiful wife, Maureen, after they had their sons. As most new, innovative companies it was created to fill a gap. In this case, for a generation of skaters who now had little shredders of their own.
So check out their site and pick out something for your little skater dude or chick!
Pair up their Little Ruler onesies with some Quicksilver or Roxy shorts(and, of course, some Sweet Shoes) and baby will be the coolest future shredder on the block.
Since our skate styles were part of the original line up, we have picked a few to match them up with. We also picked some of our slips and even some metallics for some girly edge. We are dying to match up some of their onesies with our upcoming fall skate styles. So stay tuned because this is one we will DEFINITELY revisit!
